How to make a White Board
You know, like a white Board, made of wood cut! You can choose any color of the color using a cool, clear chalkboard topcoat.
I’m at it again with another DIY-chalkboard-project. I one knew a few months ago (Ikea table Makeover) and I, I had to do another.
But with this project I had a different idea in mind. I really wanted to feel it, like a piece of paper for the children, so I decided to do me a white Board.
Don’t worry, I tested this project for a week, before I wrote the post up. The colored chalk, wipes off Super! I wet a washcloth to wipe it off, and had no problems at all!
This seriously is a great project. You know the projects, you have to wait just can’t to share with all!?! This was one of those, for me, and it was a very inexpensive project.
So you’ let;s get started!!

Mod smorgasbord table Topcoat
step 1 – Cutting wood,
I heard from my DIY store and have a 3-foot piece of wood and had Lowe's cut it into 3 12 x 12 pieces.
The piece of wood was only $7.00!!
step 2 – color of wood
next, I painted on 4 coats of white chalk paint and let each layer dry for 30 minutes.
step 3 – the tape and Paint the border
Now it’s time to my limit! I had these beautiful colors from the Martha Stewart collection. I have some “loyal” washi tape masking tape out of my limit.
I added 2 layers of paint for each panel, and let it dry for 20 minutes.
step 4 – Add a table-top coat
FINALLY!!! It’s time to check out our table covers!! I followed the instructions with this part. I painted on 1 coat and let it dry for 3 hours. Then I painted on my 2. Coat of paint and let it dry for 24 hours.
step 5 – seal panel
Now you’and s at the end of this project by sealing with a piece of chalk. I went over the entire panel with a piece of chalk and made sure to RUB it in with your fingers. Once you’re finished, you’re ready to start using it!
My boys have a great time playing with their slates, we’ve been with you for the learning time, you are great!
I’m so glad I found this DIY chalkboard project; I think this is a great project for children to play or to use even an adult. Now you know how to use a white Board, will you try it? Let me know in the commentsknow!br>I think about using Velcro command strip to hang on the wall. When the children are finished drawing, you can hang them on the wall until you decide to draw a different picture!
