Use your favorite pattern of Duck Tape, this simple backpack charm. Kids love this Assembly in a few minutes!
So, I’ve got a obsessed, my friends. I’m officially a hoarder of Duck Tape. Yep, I’m one of those people who sees a somersault, loves it and buys it. My collection is a huge plastic tub of patterns and colors, and I use it whenever I can.
And that means everything, from the craft to shipping home repairs. I still want a pretty pattern, even if I’m, taping of pipes that you can see don’t often! Recently, Duck Tape sent me some of their latest patterns and asked me to do a back-to-school project.
Well . . . I actually had something in my head to do that I’ve wanted to be inspired for a long time, and finally, by your tapes to it! I combined some of the new patterns with what I had in my stash, and what is the result? Cute Backpack Charms!
These are so easy, children can add their own charms to share with your school backpack and accessories to do you’ll love. Here’s how I made them.
you Collect Make backpack Charms
Duck Tape – the pattern of your choice, but I have the notes, whale of a time, S’mores, Please, and Blue Chevron
Sizzix Big Shot dies (if you don’t, you use the clip art in the shapes of your choice from the internet
Crop-A-Dile Power Punch with brads or regular hole
lobster-style metal buckles
dental floss or embroidery thread in various colors
Beads – printed); I bought a bag of rainbow pony beads Michaels
sheet of cardstock – you may have more than one, depending on how many charms do you want to
you’ll have to tape two pieces of Duck Tape side by side on one side of the cardboard sheet. It doesn’t have to be white, but that’s what I had!!!!!
might be your first question, to fit you pattern need to have in your backpack charms? Well, that’s up to you! It depends on the role; for some, you’ll be said in the situation, and some you won’t. Frankly, I don’t think it is important. The charms look cute no matter! I voted, if I could.
cut around the Tape to the Duck, and then you turn over the paper and repeat on the other side.
you’ll you’re dying to use, you cut the charm Form in the middle of the band.
note: if you don’t have a Sizzix Big Shot, don’t worry! You simply drag a Form from the internet – for example, heart, clip-art.
at this time, to cut you’re your Form, whether you use it with your Big Shot, or clip art scissors.
Repeat with your remaining patterns and then in different forms.
Once you do that, you have two options. I have a Crop-A-Dile, which allows me to just punch out the holes AND add brads to the holes. So that’s what I did.
If you don’t own a Crop-A-Dile, no fear! You can use a regular hole punch. Her hole 8217, won t is finished with a metal brad (unless you happen to have another device puts brad's), but it’s that big of a deal. Your charm will still work!
Set aside the charm and grab a lobster clasp . . . Cut above 14 – 20″ of dental floss or thread, and it put the clasp through the hole on the. Pull it about half way.
Start threading beads onto the floss (on BOTH parts of the dental floss) and scoot the bead all the way up to the lobster clasp.
'll Keep adding beads, so that, for example, 6 – 8″ or so of dental floss at the end – tie a knot at the end of the beads.
place the charm on the end of the dental floss (only one end) and tie another knot over 1 – 2″ at the bottom of this.
Repeat with the rest of your charms – you’re done!
you can bags and hook them on backpacks, coat zippers, or anything else you like.
I have not the charms to make responsible for you or your children depends on this backpack! They only take a few minutes and are perfect for girls’ sleep, parties, crafts, camp (summer camp), or adults who’ nights in. Just change the ribbons and the pearls, which, based on your taste!
Which one is your favorite? I think I love the owl the best . . . but every time I see you again, a different one is my favorite!
