Washi Tape Crafts: Easy Edged Chair

Everyone loves tinkering with washi tape! In this tutorial, Heidi shows you how to edge a chair with washi and Mod-smorgasbord.

Hello, Heidi from Hand Occupied here! Sometimes I just get bored of certain pieces of furniture. It’s not that they’re bad or dysfunctional, just a bit tired.
A super simple solution that I have found’ve (I’ve it’ found;s also super addictive), is the inclusion of washi tape with it for a fun surprise of texture or pop of color. Here’s my go-to method for edging a chair with washi tape and Mod-hodgepodge!

washi tape

Center washi tape along all the edges of the chair, smoothing it into place.
I love the look of this when the washi tape is only is wider than the chair’s edge. With the washi tape’s design from all angles. If your ribbon is wider than your edge, fold the edges down flush with the chair.
next, paint a layer of Mod conglomeration on the outside of the all of the Band. Once this dries, the tape will be locked, much more than if you leave it all by itself.
That’s it! Easiest Mod hodgepodge of furniture makeover ever. And now I would like to do this to ALL my furniture. Hmm…
This is such a fun and unique washi tape craft!
