They make a dishwasher safe DIY glitter mug

You can use this DIY glitter mug with dishwasher-proof Mod smorgasbord – then you can wash it safely away without glitter comes!

hi – I’m Dom Crafted, with a DIY glitter mug tutorial for you today. The best part of this mug? It’s in the dishwasher. So, if you can follow the instructions and allow it to heal it, wash it in the top rack of the dishwasher and the glitter won’t wash off. Amazing, Right? Add a bit of glittering bling-bling to your morning coffee with this super simple project!

you need:

mugs
rubbing alcohol
Dishwasher-safe Mod hotchpotch
Fine grain glitter

The first thing you must do before you can start blinging up your mug is clean the area with Isopropanol. This is recommended on the packaging of dishwasher-safe Mod smorgasbord.
Ok, so there are two ways you can do this. You can mix your glitter into the Mod-hodgepodge, which I have in this photo. I felt like this was just too many coats and went on very slowly, as they would wait for each layer to dry before you could even more . . . don’t bother!
Instead, coat the handle in your dishwasher safe Mod smorgasbord and generously sprinkle your glitter over the top.
I’m recommend fine glitter, for two reasons. One, I personally think it looks better than the chunky stuff. Two, it will feel better if you keep the handle of your Cup, you can enjoy your coffee in the morning. 🙂

If you have any sections that look a little bare, or if you missed bits just go over the empty areas with Mod smorgasbord and, of course, more glitter.
is your Mod-hodgepodge dry, shake the excess glitter off the handle and wipe off all the loose glitter from the body of the Cup. You give the handle a layer of Mod smorgasbord of over the top of the glitter. The instructions on the side of the container, recommend 2-3 layers.
TA-DA! Pretty cute, isn't it!
Now I'll admit, I haven’t, my glitter mug in my dishwasher yet. The pack do not recommend to cure the piece, the 28 days prior to the wash. I’m sure that it will work, but I want to pop back once it’s been washed and let you know how it goes!
