Spray paint Outdoor chairs (with message!)

You know, like spray paint, outdoor chairs – with my tips and tricks! I also show how to add a message through the layering of the color. So cool.
There’s a project that we’ve been trying to do around here for a while! My outdoor chairs have had to be revised, and until now, I have taken only’t the time to do it.
The reason for the desired tag? Because, when I moved into my apartment, the blue outdoor chairs and a white table stood out like a sore thumb against the brick of my house and the design of the environment.
. . . but with a fun twist, because all I have to do at least a little more personality! I’ll explain that in a minute.
I was singing, looking around for the spray paint colors at Lowe’s and came across this beautiful display (cue the angels):
It’s a reminder that I’ve noted before, but this time I was shopping for something in particular: Valspar Outdoor spray paint. There were several reasons why I chose this color!

you can use it on almost any surface (wood, metal, terra cotta, etc.)
Excellent weather protection – including UV-resistance
rust resistance (important for these chairs, which tend to rust)
Not to mention No sealing required

the amazing color palette! I chose three colors: Dried, pepper, spring sea-Spray Sprout and Exotic. The Dried peppers and in the spring, the cast, the main colors will be.
And the Exotic sea-Spray? Well, that was for the secret message. Yep – these chairs have news on the places that you might not have noticed, or perhaps, in the first photo.
And now I’them to share m the complete tutorial excited with you. Here’s how we completely revamped our outdoor table and chairs with Valspar spray paint!
How to Spray Paint Outdoor chairs
Here, on the chairs we started with. Let me also a fun tidbit with you about these chairs – at one point I used a cleaner on it that I wasn’t, so the color was really splotchy. This tag came at just the right time!
We wanted to make sure that our chairs and the table were to accept clean and ready, that the color – so we have washed and 150 sandpaper to abrade to the surface easily. You don’t have to for you to have a perfect sanding job, but you want to anything at least once with the sand paper.
remove the sanding dust and get clean, the chairs and the table REALLY, we dried them with a cloth sprayed with some rubbing alcohol. You don’t want to leave the dust behind.
Then we don't have the chairs and the table and put the nuts and bolts in a plastic bag for safe keeping. You can technically dis-assemble before cleaning – do’s just the way we chose it.
Now you need to decide two things: 1) if you want your messages, and 2) what color you want. This is where I integrate the Exotic sea wanted to Spray!
If my chairs were not blue, they were turquoise-y color that I had hoped for. So I decided that I wanted a message on a seat of the chair and another message on the other.
Then I sprayed both of the seats (where the message would go) with the Exotic sea-Spray. Give at least two layers and let the chair dry.
I recommend that the seats dry overnight (or whatever piece of the message set), because you need it really dry for this next step.
Now you’ll need TWO elements: self-adhesive letters in the font of your choice and a painter’s Band. Place a strip of painter’s tape on a seat, so that your message is perfectly horizontal.
Then place your self-adhesive letters down on the chair, and along the floors with the Band. We have two messages: “Take a seat” and “relax.” We write this, and opened the letter down.
Now you’re REALLY painting.
I’ll address the seats with the news in a minute – but for now, you’re going to spray paint everything else . . . the tops of the chairs, the arms and legs of the table . . .
We decided to use the Dried pepper for the arms, legs, and the table. The would sprout in the spring, cover the backrest and the seat surface of the chairs.
If you’re spraying: spray in light, even coats – goes back and forth several times across the surface.
I've actually been there a couple of coats, because that is how I am most successful with spray paint in the past. I find that noise on the job can be just the project to ruin. So work slowly! The spray paint went on smoothly and evenly.
you’re probably wondering why I put a picture of a tree with orange things. These are the arms and legs of the chairs!
We found that the covering with the wire and spray it covering the entire area from all sides. Not spraying, just be careful, the tree (no trees were hurt in the coating of our chairs!).
It took me several hours to spray paint anything – but that includes breaks for dry time. You don’t want to rush to skimp on home-decor items, though, or you. The best way to get the best results, patience is! It’s not a virtue of mine, but I forced myself :0
Now that we’ve dealt with the other parts of the chairs, let’s address the seats with the special message.
We are sure that you spray the back/bottom of the seats first and then let it dry completely. Then we painted the sides and tops – and Yes, sprayed right on the adhesive letters! Multiple coats, just like with the other parts of the chair.
Let them dry for a few minutes, and then remove the self-adhesive letters VERY carefully with a sharp tool (I used an X-Acto knife).
you do not want to paint the paint to dry too much or the letters pull-up with them . . . and you don’t want that!
SEE there – a message!! Isn’t it so much fun??
We repeated with the other chair. Then we let everything dry and all back together. Be very careful when assembling . . . You’ll probably want two people, even if their chairs’t like the my. Why?
Because if it’s moist to heal it’s going to take several days for the color. Our chairs were dry, but still sticky for a few days (it’s already very humid here). You can wait and let the piece dry for several days, if you’re concerned – it’s up to you!
to go one way or the other, you’re, in order to end up with some pretty awesome chairs at the end. I’m so happy about our “new” outdoor set . . . and I can wait’t until my neighbors come over and look at the messages before you sit down. I hope you are tickled!
Now you know how to chairs and spray paint, will you try it?
