I love the interesting effect the dowel rods, like his face, and I am so happy with how it turned out. My friend Chris saw my idea as I was initially with the work, and was’t be so sure – and I’t blame – but it turned out exactly as I saw it in my head.Don’t you love when that happens? Here’s how to make a glow-in-the-dark skeleton Halloween decoration for yourself.Luminous skeleton-decorCollect These Supplieswood plaqueMod hodgepodge MatteMod hodgepodge Glow-in-the-dark folkart acrylic paint – Pure Black, Lime-Green, titanium-white skull graphics – big enough to be on your plaqueDowel rods – a range in the sizes of 1/16″ 1/4″scissors pencil paint brush – large and smallSaw and Mitra boxCraft glue to Print a skull and crossbones graphic, customize your badge (search for free clip art or design your own). To begin, cut the dowel rods to fit the skeleton face. How you do this, you ask? you get a handy dandy miter load and a saw and start . . . Saws. I got this for 15 dollars at Home Depot. This is my first, and I’m so proud of me. My girlfriend Sherrie and attached it to a Desk with some clamps so that I saw you with ease. to mark, I used a pencil, where you saw, then the size of the anchor is changed rods, as I worked. I sawed some of the pieces at an angle, and some straight – I tried to follow the shape of the skeleton of the face, as well as I could. Here’s the whole thing is covered. Now you have to paint all of the dowel rods, white. It doesn’t matter if you shift left or right on the paper, as long as they remain in the same order vertically. While the dowel bars, dried/are you painting in the middle, paint the top of the panel with lime Green. Allow it to dry. This is how you get the dowel rods in the right place. Push them out of the skull design, make sure that you remain in the correct order vertically. Then they cut the skull face out of paper and draw on the center of the plate with a pencil. Then starting at the bottom, glue the dowel rods to fit the template with a pencil craft glue. The template makes it very easy to assemble the skeleton decor. Once you have glued all the dowel rods to the bottom coat touch all of them with white again, you need to-up.Don’t worry, when the white color, the touch is a little – is based on the green; we’re going to that to. I had no idea how to bars of the mouth, nose and eyes on the dowel. Then I realized I could cut these areas and the use of the skull, face, like a mask. So that’s what I did. I used a smaller brush to paint in the black eyes, nose and mouth. It takes a little bit, but it’s fun, the detail work (at least for me). You allow it to dry. you can Paint the edge and back of your skeleton decor with black and let dry. Then you turn over the plaque and touch the green. Then at least 4 – 5 coats of Mod-hodgepodge Glow-in-the-Dark, skeletal face, but ONLY on the white parts. Let it air dry. You need this many layers it is a decent gluten, the skeleton pattern. Paint the rest of the plaque (not the skeleton) with Matte Mod smorgasbord. You allow it to dry. Accelerate your skeleton face, by lights it under a light, then the lights will turn off and you let it! It disappears after a few minutes, but it’s worth it. And of course, I just like my skeleton decor, sitting on the table, as a regular Halloween decor, smiling.do you Like this spooky project?
