Quick Kids Craft: Button Votive

This quick kids craft with the new Mod-hodgepodge washout formula that comes out of a kids clothing! Have fun, make a votive in 30 minutes or less.
I’m always looking for kids craft ideas, quick and easy . . . and Mod smorgasbord is the best way to achieve that, in my humble opinion.

Not only that, but the kids flat washer Mod hodgepodge is a new formula, and it’s very special. It comes from children’ clothing, which is awesome. Not more craft in fear of a destroyed closet! Here’s how it’s done.

Collect These Supplies

Dollar store votive – got me from Dollar Tree
Mod hodgepodge of children’ Washout
tissue paper in the patterns of your choice
craft glue
Button
brush
-scissors
LED tea light

This is my before. These votives from Dollar Tree are really nice and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
older children can recommend you cut the tissue paper into squares – I cut a number of places for the little ones.
Give your child a paint brush or foam brush and brush a layer of Mod-smorgasbord-to-bottom, glue the tissue paper and then paint over the top.
Keep adding layers and layers on top. It’s fun because it doesn’t matter how many layers, and it may be a coincidence – kids love this.
Once it’s is dry, add a button or other embellishment to the front with craft glue.
This votive Church was in about 15 minutes. Some children will be more, but it can definitely be done in a short period of time. This fun votive can be used for home decor, or you can also buy candy for a teacher gift! What do you think?
