Hey everyone! It’s Megan of homemade Ginger again and I’m back with a sweet little tutorial-just in time for back to school!
I can’t believe the time has already arrived for backpacks, school supplies, and the end of the summer. My daughter was in first grade a few days ago, and I’m always thinking in ways to personalize your stuff, you need to school, so they're not lost, don’t or s to be confused with another’stuff.
I came up with these small, personalized wood key chain, which can be set, keys, backpack, or lunch box. I have one on my keys and I love it!
It’s the perfect size so that I can find them easily in my purse. This would also be a fun teacher gift.
Personalized key chain made Of wood
Here’s what you need:
Wooden circles (to find business)
Mod-hodgepodge (matt or glossy in any craft works)
Mod hodgepodge Dimensional Magic
step One: The first thing you want to do, paint your circles. I used colors that contrasted with the Kraft paper. I like this kind of mismatched look, but you could do whatever! You may also want to have holes in your circles at this point.
step Two: Cut to fit your craft paper on the wooden circle. At this point, you will want to use the cutter to cut your letters. If you have a Silhouette or Cricut, you could not instead. I just did it the old fashioned way.
step Three: With the Mod-hodgepodge, brush a layer on the top side of the painted circle, to lay out your craft paper and then brush another layer.
step Four: if the Mod hodgepodge is dry, use the Dimensional Magic to the top. I have a relatively thin layer, but you could build it up thicker if you like the look of. This isn’t pictured, but I actually closed toothpick stuck in the holes to hold them, while the Dimensional Magic dried.
Once it’s is dry, attach it to your keys or backpack with a string, leather, cord, or twine!
This personalized wood key chain was my first time with the three-Dimensional magic, and I loved the stuff. I will definitely think of ways to it in the future!
