You can revamp a budget-friendly IKEA frames with a few basic craft. It will look like a whole new (expensive) frame. So easy!
Today’s IKEA-frame project is one that has been on my craft to-do list for a while. I bought a pair of basic white mirror frame at IKEA a few months ago.
. Now I finally have some more time to some of these projects done and checked off my to-do list!!
Nautical frame Makeover
For the nautical craft you will need:
Collect These Supplies
Mod smorgasbord of Hard Coat
If you have only one great frame from IKEA ($2.00), then select from your scrapbook paper. This idea works well for any decor style, if nautical isn’t your style.
I found the wood-laser-cut-frame, on Michael’s for $2.00. So this is a pretty cheap project.
step 1 – Trace and cut out Scrapbook paper
This step is pretty self-explanatory. I grabbed a pencil and drew the size of my image and cut it out. Ya said!!
step 2 – Add your paper
my “ moved;paint handy dandy” a Hard layer of Mod conglomeration, and started it on my image. Then I put my scrapbook paper on top, so you can be sure that you remove, smooth down with fingers all the bubbles.
If I thought I was close to the mirror part, I could continue the process. BUT it was bubble to a huge air. So I had to act quickly.
I pulled out my trusty X-Acto knife and began cutting along the inner edge of the mirror. Once it was cut, I continued to let my scrapbook paper. Voila!!
you are smoothing it down with a credit card, if you blow out all of the air. the Let it dry for 30 minutes.
step 3 – Add More Mod-hodgepodge
Now you’s our second layer of Mod smorgasbord on the top. the Let dry 30 minutes.
step 4 – Add Frame
Now you’s the conclusion of our project by this cool wood laser cut frame! I have just a little bit of hot glue on all 4 corners and pressed him down.
I bought a total of 4 images that day, I plan on doing multiple frames, such as this and make a cool collage on my wall. I think it turned out pretty cool, so I’t wait to get started on the other.
The laser-cut frame was perfect for the conclusion of my preppy nautical look! I know, this idea isn’t new, but I thought the nautical look was a fresh take on it. The possibilities are really endless with this IKEA frame and some cool scrapbook paper!
