Easy Christmas Handprint Crafts: Three Fun Ideas!

Christmas handprint crafts are a fun favorite with small children! You make special memories with these three cute and easy craft ideas.

one Of my most cherished items from when I was young, is a plaque that I have with the buttons (you can see it here). I love don’t or take care of a lot of the material elements, but everything I did as a child is dear to me.
That’s why I love handprint crafts, especially for the holidays! You are so sweet and cute, and they are the memories that remain forever! If you are going to love Christmas handprint crafts, you’re to love these three ideas, including a Santa ornament, a handprint tree and snowman family plaque.
salt dough or air Dry clay?
A lot of Christmas handprint art requires dough or clay to imprint the child’s hand. I’ve got two options for you. First, you can use the salt dough recipe listed in the Santa handprint tutorial below. You’ll need to bake, but you probably have a lot of ingredients in your kitchen already.
The advantage of using air-dry clay is to mix that you don’t everything. You can buy to store in the kids’ craft section of your craft or online. You can keep it in the container until you want to use it, which is nice. No baking is involve – it dries over a few days, as the name says.

adhesive For the hand print:

flour – 4 cups
salt – 1 Cup
of Warm water – 1.5 cups
Rolling pin


Mix the flour and salt. Slowly add the warm water. Stir to combine. Knead until soft and pliable.
Add a small amount of flour on your work surface. Roll out the dough. You press your hand into the dough. Use a knife to cut your hand-Form. Bake at 300° for 1.5-2 hours. Cool.
Turn the handprint so the fingers are positioned, to the bottom. The fingers are the beard. Paint the middle of the palm of your hand/face with light flesh. You paint the fingers, on the top of the had, and the top of the hat with titanium White. Paint the hat area Apple Red, With a dry Bush, paint the cheeks with Pink blush. Add an Apple, the Red nose. Add a mustache with the White. With a detail brush, add eyes and highlights with charcoal Black. Add a pink mouth under the nose.
With the star tip, add sound Collage along the beard, hat brim and the top. Sink a jingle bell in the hat-tip. Let it dry for 8 hours.
Paint Mod hodgepodge of Glitter on the beard and mustache area. Let dry.Paint Mod smorgasbord of Satin, the hat, sides and face,.
Paint the wood plaque Yellow Citron.
With the hot glue gun to attach the handprint Santa to the center of the plaque.

PROJECT TIP: make a hanging handprint ornament, just poke a hole in the top of the ornament before baking.

gluing on the bottom center of the plaque, attach the brown strip of paper on the plaque. This is the trunk of the tree. Fasten through the application of Mod smorgasbord on the back of the paper, the position on the plaque and smooth, remove all the bubbles.
Start prints on the lower part of the tree with the largest hand. Attach it with Mod-hodgepodge. The fingers should point downwards. Work prints your way up the tree to add more until you reach the top. The smallest hand print should be on the top of the tree. Top-coat the entire structure with a layer of Mod-smorgasbord.
Add Glitter Mod-hodgepodge, to create the tips of the fingers for a matte look. Let dry.
Fix the small nails on the tree. You start at the top and work through the tree until you reach the end. You start at the top. Tie the cord around the top of the nail, working your way down the tree, wrap the string around each nail. You tie the string on the last nail.
With the glue gun, attach the snowflake and sentiment on the plaque (ours were pre-painted, and the snow flake, shone).

the PROJECT TIP: This technique can be used with fabric to make a holiday throw pillow. You are using fabric, cut handprints and fabric Mod smorgasbord to achieve a similar appearance.

color of the plaque with Patina and let it dry.
Paint the palms and fingers of a child’s hand with titanium white and then press on the plaque. You raise your hand and carefully wash with soap and water.
Paint Mod smorgasbord of extreme Glitter over the painted handprint.
you Use wood coal Black and a detail brush to paint the hats on the snowmen. Add eyes, mouth and buttons with Black, and the end of the brush.
you Paint the nose with Pure Orange and the detail brush.
color scarves with the rest of the colors and a flat brush.
Add sound to act in a Collage at the bottom of the plaque displayed, such as snow. Sprinkle with glitter while still wet and allow to dry.
The display on your tree or on the wall!
