DIY wrapping paper Makes an impression!
I fell in love with the beautiful gift of paper from a magazine – so I made my own DIY wrapping paper with stamping and glitter. So pretty! Learn how to make your own wrapping paper below.
skills Required: beginner. You’ll be punching it is relatively easy, as well as tags with Mod smorgasbord and glitter. You don’t have to reach in front of the craft experience to this project.
last year I got a Southern Living Christmas magazine, and while flipping through the pages, I discovered this beautiful nautical inspired, Christmas, wrapping paper. I fell in LOVE!
BUT it was getting close to Christmas and I want to didn’t to it. I wouldn’t have had the time to get and wrap presents as well.
So I decided to save this DIY to make a gift paper idea in an attempt to get it for me in the following year. I had pinned the page to my inspiration board in my craft room for a year . . . and it was finally time to try at the time.
last year I bought some great nautical stamp, I’ve been saving for this craft. You can use any type of stamp you want and they fit the wrapping paper to your style.
Make your Own wrapping paper
The biggest question that I get, as it is your own wrapping paper, “what should I get?” I love the packing paper from the Dollar tree that comes on a roll. Last year I wrapped all my gifts in it.
you’ll hear referred to this brown paper as a “Kraft paper” and “butcher paper” as well. You can buy them from a variety of places, such as The UPS Store, WalMart, Target, Michaels . . or even online.
In addition, Kraft paper comes in white, if you dig aren’t the brown. You can also buy paper packaging that comes in the leaves – but that’s more like a newspaper. The stamps won’t be alive on the newspaper. My personal favorite is the brown craft paper, but you have options!
Decorate your gifts
If you save the head to the crafts, to choose from several different ribbons for your packages. But what you want to Mod smorgasbord, you ask? Well, the ornaments for the packaging! You’ll choose wood forms (to go along with the theme of your packaging).
in Addition, you’ll want to grab, to, glitter, what you’ll hold the moulds with a Mod-hodgepodge. They use a thicker, chunky glitter, if you want to don’t paint the forms of the wood, so that the cover is better.

I had to go to get to a few stores, my. WalMart had a great variety of Christmas ribbon for $1.00, which was great for the wallet. Then I went to Michaels for my wood-anchor, whale, and crab.

step 1 – the stamp on the pattern
I cut my paper to the size of my gift, then gently (but firmly) stamped my Form on the paper (before wrapping). For my nautical theme, I received this great stamp from Michael's, bought in the dollar bin ($1.50 per) in the summer.

next, I added ribbon to my fun. You can be as creative as you want with this step! I encourage you to use a variety of styles and textures, but don’t make it too wide – you’ll cover up the beautiful DIY wrapping paper with you!
step 4 – Add your Glitter
Now you’s our ornaments to our DIY wrapping paper! I love these forms. Every time I’m in Michael's I'll grab a few, so I have them always at hand.
with my “handy dandy” Mod smorgasbord sprinkled my glitter on top! Let it dry for 30 minutes.
I was able to tie the anchor to the Band through the hole, but the crabs and whales were hot glued to the packages. You can re-use the forms, by the way The person opening the gift, just peel it off the paper. Hello . . . instant ornament?!
My DIY wrapping paper turned out perfect!! This process was so easy; I’ll be here all my gifts like this.
