Cut-Out-DIY-wall-decor-in Four Easy steps
To create you use a canvas, a quote, string and your trusty bottle of Mod collection, these unique DIY wall decor. Customize with any words you like!
for some reason, when I think of spring decor and crafts, and all things, the string come to mind. I know don’t why, but anything string-y spring seems to be-y! I came up with this super-fun DIY wall decor – a unique opportunity to create an individual offer canvas to create a string.
Or, maybe, you will love it so much that you want to keep it all year long. I have to hang my string quote canvas in my daughter’s room and it’s so cheerful and funny!
For this project you will need:
Mod-hodgepodge (I have Matt)
First, use the vinyl letters to spell your word or quote. As you can see, I actually have an old canvas and painted over white. Since this project is structured, this is a good way to use up something that you no longer use, because you notice won’t, the previous texture to Shine through!
Cut a thread cut into small pieces. Then, working in sections, brush on a layer of Mod-hodgepodge and sprinkle on the thread.
continue to work, until the whole canvas is filled. Brush another layer of Mod-pick-and-mix to seal in the string. I allowed myself to fully dry overnight.
With your X-Acto knife, carefully cut around each letter. Make sure it’s to completely dry before attempting this step!
And you're upset with your DIY-wall-decor! Wasn’t that easy?
I love the way it turned out. It looks great against a colored or dark background, but it’s also a subtle way to dress up a white wall.
Do you have a small or large, whatever your heart desires! I love using vinyl letters for so many projects. Check out my mini canvas, magnets, tie-dyed, canvas bags, and child are created for the art of letters for more fun and easy tutorials like this!
