A Modern Christmas Centerpiece
You create this beautiful Christmas centerpiece with simple materials like wood and Mod-hodgepodge. It would look awesome on your table!
Though I’ve been guilty of the more colorful, bustling type of project, the style-just like Walter’s Christmas centerpiece is my favorite. This project is not difficult, and you can see how awesome the results are; I’ll let Walter tell you how it’s done.
This is a simple project that can make a statement to any decor for the holidays. You can use any kind of shape for the tree and whatever papers you want. I show in this tutorial, as I this particular.
2 wooden taper-cups (screws can be found in the unfinished wood section of craft stores)
cordless drill with a counter sink bit on Supplies (I have a drill press)
2 1/2″ x 7″ x 1/4″ piece of wood
Elongated triangle shape 3″ x 9 3/4″ (do not Use any Form or shape according to your requests)
1″ wooden beads with a hole through it
Mod hodgepodge gloss
step 1: Prime all the pieces with FolkArt titanium White. Let it dry for about 20 minutes.
step 2: draw the triangle shape on your chosen paper and cut. Do the same for the base as well.
step 3: Place all the shapes that have been cut out. You cut out all the pieces and let them dry for at least 15 minutes.
step 4: Paint the edges of the base with FolkArt Engine Red, then cut the top and bottom of the base. Let it dry for 15 minutes.
step 5: Once all the pieces are decoupaged, you are ready to assemble. You have two options:
you can industry to assemble glue everything
you use a drill with a countersink bit, drill three pilot holes
to secure then attach the taper cups with 1/2″ wood-screw, and a 2 1/2″ wood screw through the base, wood beads and a tree.
6. Step: Seal the whole piece with Mod smorgasbord and allow to dry for at least 15 minutes. Add two taper candles, and the project is completed!br> That was fun, easy, and I like the way my DIY-Christmas-centerpiece came out. You have to remember to use, what shape you like for the center, and you choose some interesting items in the Mod collection. Have fun and enjoy this project!
